This article shows you how to use the Lavalla iPods to take photos and videos.

The iPods are in "kiosk mode", so they can't run any application except the Lavalla photo app. The app will automatically run when the iPod is powered on.

Logging on to the app

Users can log in to the app using their Lavalla username and password. They should use their username only (NOT their email address!), and their regular school password, so for example:

Username: smitjoh1
Password: ab1234

Or

Username: smitjan1
Password: Hello12#

If you can't see the Login button, press "Done" on the keyboard or tap on another part of the screen

Taking Photos and Videos

To take a photo or video:

  1. Log into the app
  2. Press the + button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. You'll be presented with two options: photo (indicated with a digital camera icon) and video (indicated with a movie camera icon). Tap on the one you want
  3. The camera will open up. Take the photo you want, and press the tick icon to confirm. The photo or video will be added to the queue.
  4. Press "Upload File(s)" to start uploading them. This may take a while, depending on how many files you have.
  5. When it's done, you'll receive a message telling you how many succeeded, and how many failed. You can tap on the photo to see why it failed, or delete it from the queue.

Please note that there is a limit for how many photos / videos you can upload at one time. By default this is 10 photos or videos, OR 200mb, whichever comes first. Keep the iPod on while you upload the photos
