Prior to your scheduled meeting or webinar, you can test whether Zoom is working properly on your device. 


If you do not have Zoom already installed, please see How to Install Zoom

Microsoft Windows


  1. Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome)
  2. Visit https://zoom.us/test 
  3. Click on "Join"
  4. When prompted click on "Open Zoom Meetings"

  5. The Zoom Test Meeting will now launch. If you want to test your camera, click "Join with Video" otherwise, click "Join without Video"
  6. Now check your speakers work. You should hear a ringtone. If they work, click "Yes"
  7. Now test your microphone by speaking, and then listening for it to repeat. If it works, click "Yes"
  8. Now click "Join with Computer Audio"
  9. You can now click "Leave" to terminate the test meeting.


If your speakers or microphone don't work, lodge a support ticket via the Lavalla Helpdesk Portal for assistance.


Apple Mac OS X


  1. Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome)
  2. Visit https://zoom.us/test 
  3. Click on "Join"
  4. When prompted to launch Zoom, click "Open zoom.us"
  5. The Zoom Test Meeting will now launch. First, check your speakers work. You should hear a ringtone. If they work, click "Yes"

  6. Now test your microphone by speaking, and then listening for it to repeat. If it works, click "Yes"
  7. Now click "Join with Computer audio"
  8. You can now click "Leave" to terminate the test meeting
