If a Powerpoint presentation contains a lot of media such as photos or sounds, the file can become so large that it can't be emailed. There are a few different ways to shrink a Powerpoint presentation:

Compressing Images

Microsoft Powerpoint has an option to compress images within a presentation. This procedure is the same whether you have a Mac or PC

  1. In your Powerpoint presentation, click on Picture Format along the top, then click on the Compress Pictures icon.
  2. Set the Picture Quality to Email (96 ppi)
  3. Tick the box that says Delete cropped areas of pictures and then All pictures in their file.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Save your document again, and it should have shrunk in file size

Saving the document as a PDF

Saving a document as a PDF can help lock in formatting, and also shrink down images. To learn how to save a document as a PDF, please see this solution.
