If a Powerpoint presentation contains a lot of media such as photos or sounds, the file can become so large that it can't be emailed. There are a few different ways to shrink a Powerpoint presentation:
Compressing Images
Microsoft Powerpoint has an option to compress images within a presentation. This procedure is the same whether you have a Mac or PC
- In your Powerpoint presentation, click on Picture Format along the top, then click on the Compress Pictures icon.
- Set the Picture Quality to Email (96 ppi)
- Tick the box that says Delete cropped areas of pictures and then All pictures in their file.
- Click OK.
- Save your document again, and it should have shrunk in file size
Saving the document as a PDF
Saving a document as a PDF can help lock in formatting, and also shrink down images. To learn how to save a document as a PDF, please see this solution.
