Restarting a Mac

1. Click the Apple icon in the top left-hand corner
2. Click on "Restart.."
   
3. Wait until the computer starts back up, then log in again.

Restarting a Windows machine

1. Click on the Start Menu, then click the power button
   
2. Click on "Restart"
   
3. Wait until the computer has restarted (this may take a while if there are updates that need to be installed) and then log back in
